Paul graduated from Valpraiso University School of Law, Valpraiso, Indiana, in 1975. He practiced law in Glencoe, Minnesota, before moving to Springfield to found the law firm with wife, Josephine. Paul is licensed to practice in Minnesota. He is the City Attorney for the cities of Springfield, Comfrey, Walnut Grove, and Sanborn.

When Paul isn’t at the office, he can be found woodworking in his garage, helping his four children with house projects, or working on restoring his 1930 Ford Model A.
